Bite Dental Work & COVID-19: Doing Our Part to Keep You Safe

As COVID-19 continues to rage throughout the world, many of our patients have had one question: Is it safe to go to the dentist?

Going out anywhere these days comes with a little bit of risk.

However, at Bite Dental, we are going above and beyond to minimize any chance of exposure.

Keep reading to learn what we're doing to make sure our spaces remain COVID-19-free.

Staff Screening

Our line of defence starts with our staff members.

Each staff member is required to record their temperature twice a day and is subject to daily screening.

All staff members also wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Better Air Circulation

Air circulation has become a concerning factor in the spread of COVID-19.

In order to mitigate risk, we've installed the Vitashield air filter, as well as two mobile air filters in the operatories. The Vidashield uses a triple HEPA filter and a UV light to purify the air in each operatory four times per hour.

These measures far exceed the standards required for dental offices in Alberta. At the time of this publication, the regional government only required clinics to reduce aerosol-producing procedures and use an HVE.

However, we are dedicated to our staff and patients' safety and are willing to go above and beyond to keep everyone healthy.

Suction Units

Each hygiene operatory has been equipped with an external suction unit.

This suction unit also serves as an air purifier in a continuing effort to maximize patient safety.

Patient Requirements

Each patient must undergo screening twice. The first time will take place 24-48 hours before their appointment.

The next will happen at the appointment, where they will receive a temperature check. Patients who show signs of COVID-19 or have potentially come into contact with COVID-19 will be asked to reschedule.

Additionally, unless a patient is being worked on, they must wear a mask.

Patients must also text us upon arrival before entering the building. Once we are ready for you, one of our staff members will escort you in. Please do not attempt to enter the building on your own. You will be refused entry until you text.

We are taking this precaution to avoid crowding in our facility. COVID-19 passes when people come into close contact. This is easy in crowded areas. It is critical to the well-being of our patients and staff that everyone follows this procedure.

Disinfection

Without exception, everything in our office will be disinfected between patients.

This includes both items and surfaces. If a patient or staff member has touched it, it will be cleaned before being used by the next person.

Deliveries

We are still accepting deliveries at this time.

If you work for a delivery company and have a package for us, please leave it at the door. A member of staff will then pick it up.
